I picked up the Essence Nauti Girl collection last month, and am just getting around to swatching them. For a nautical theme, I did find it odd to have a orange in the collection named Miss Navy especially when there is a navy color polish in the collection.
First is Crew First! 04. Two coats. This is a peachy nude color. Can be a little thick, but not uncomfortable to work with.
Next is the orange called Miss Navy 03. This is a bright orange which needs no white base to pop! Two coats.
The first blue in the collection is Oh Captain, My Captain 02. On the label it does say to use a base coat, which I always do anyway. But it is nice to see that at least one cosmetic company is acknowledging that nail polish stains and saying that a base coat to prevent that. At one stage we've all worn a polish which once removed we discover stained nails. Not pleasant. But good on Essence for doing this. Two coats.
The other blue in this collection is Ahoy, Boy! 01. This is the polish I think should have swapped names with the orange Miss Navy. As Ahoy Boy! it is a lovely navy color. Again Essence has on the sticker to use a base coat with this polish. Here I only needed one coat. Beautiful!
Now Essence did produce some nail art stickers for this collection. Unfortunately, they had all sold out when I found the display. But I did want to do some nail art with these colors. So the good old dotting tool came out, and I made flowers.
